Disciplinary Action Guidelines
Coach and Player Agent Corrective Action
Corrective action can be initiated by a Manager, Coach, or Umpire on the field or after an incident by a Player Agent.
The following are examples of incidents or behaviors that may result in corrective action:
Intentional throwing of equipment, on the field or in the dugout.
Use of foul, racially charged, discriminatory language or harassment of other players.
Arguing with play calls or disrespect of umpires, coaches, or players.
General disrespect for teammates, team, or league property including fields and dugout.
The following are examples of corrective actions that may be taken, both in real-time at the fields and after the fact with a Player Agent:
Cardio exercise to eliminate excess energy, such as running laps.
Removal from the game or practice to the bench.
The player’s parent or guardian may be required to attend future practices and/or games.
The player may be sent home with a future review of behavior and additional corrective action from the Player Agent and/or Board.
Board Involvement Corrective Action
When patterns of behavior are identified, the Board may become involved with corrective action similar to the following:
In-game suspensions during which the player must attend the game but will not play.
Out-of-play suspensions during which the player is asked to refrain from attending any games or practices for a period of time.
As outlined in the Wilsonville Little League Constitution, the Board may meet to facilitate the removal of any Player, Coach, Manager, Board Member, or Umpire when the conduct of such a person is detrimental to the best interest of Wilsonville Little League.
